Yaqeen Institute for Islamic Research is looking for a Product Owner to own the strategy and execution of our new Yaqeen Jr product. Yaqeen Product Owner works cross-functionally with engineers, creative, marketing, data, and research to build world class Islamic products. We are looking for extremely entrepreneurial Product Owners who move quickly, can help innovate, and coherently drive product initiatives from 0 → 1.

Yaqeen Jr is a new initiative at Yaqeen and will require the Product Owner to deeply understand the core audience, build a strategy and roadmap, execute and measure success of the product. Experimentation and customer empathy are critical for this role. The primary focus will be taking ambiguous and complex problems and breaking them down to take action to build the best solution for our audience.

What do Muslim American kids go through? What pain points do they have in their journey? What is their journey? And what can we do to solve these problems? These are some of the questions the Product Owner will be tackling in order to build a world class solution for our Muslim American children.

Yaqeen Insititute for Islamic Research is looking for an Outreach Coordinator to develop relationships and organize opportunities to engage with local communities in the Northeast region. This position will require the coordinator to introduce the community to valuable Yaqeen resources. While maintaining and strengthening existing relationships with local Muslim institutions, the outreach coordinator will serve as the main point of contact for all Yaqeen inquires in the region.

Responsibilities:
  • Identifies target audiences for Yaqeen content and products within the region by researching, networking, and building contact lists to help locate key people, who can then work toward Yaqeen resource integration.
  • Maintains a recurring relationship with Islamic centers, mosques, MSAs, Islamic schools, youth groups, and other Islamic organizations within the specified region as well as key religious and community leaders.
  • Implements a system to inform these groups, institutions, and individuals about Yaqeen’s resources and promotes and supports their use.
  • Conducts on-site resource training and support.
  • Develops familiarity with Yaqeen’s resources.
  • Participates pro-actively in Yaqeen’s quality management and data collection programs.
  • Recruits, trains, and manages regional volunteers.
  • Contacts vendors for special events, acquires quotes, and maintains pricing information.

  • Act as the product evangelist for our different products

The Major Gifts Officer is responsible for assisting the Director of Development with planning and leading Yaqeen Institutes’s Major Gifts Program. This includes managing an individual portfolio of current and prospective donors through identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.

Responsibilities:
  • Models Islamic character and professionally represents the Yaqeen brand.
  • Supports implementation of the annual development plan and goals.
  • Develops a robust plan to actively manage a portfolio of prospects, including self-directed research, a multi-faceted communication strategy with an emphasis on personal interactions with prospects and donors, gift solicitations, and stewardship in line with the Development Department’s stewardship matrix.
  • Works with staff and volunteers to identify and cultivate new major donors.
  • Makes direct and face‐to‐face solicitations, in person when safe to do so.
  • Effectively stewards the organization’s relationships with a portfolio of individual major gifts donors through daily interactions, including written correspondence, phone calls, video chats, and in-person visits and events when safe to do so.
  • Maintains accurate records of donor outreach through timely upkeep of donor database, including new record creation, contact reports, contact information updates, donation processing, organizing queries, and other similar types of relevant information.

To tackle today’s many challenging topics, we recruit traditionally and/or academically-trained scholars to produce thorough, well-researched papers that dismantle doubts about Islam, nurture conviction in the faith, and inspire faith driven contribution to society. Accessible research that is spiritually uplifting is key to disseminating complex ideas and strengthening faith in the hearts of Muslim readers. For these reasons, we are looking to hire a part-time ghostwriter who can work closely with a number of diverse scholars, review drafted content, and rewrite passages as necessary to achieve an intellectually and spiritually compelling narrative.
