When Only One Sahabi Was Left In The World | Signs of the Hour Ep. 6
The Prophet ﷺ leaned in and whispered heavy words into the ear of Uthman (ra).
He ﷺ warned of a coming tide of tribulations that would peak after his passing, leaving his Companions with a single, important command: "Stick to the trustworthy ones." He ﷺ cautioned that true safety in these times would belong only to those spared from three world-altering trials. Learn about these and many other precise predictions of the Prophet ﷺ about the future.

The stars have fallen of the Prophets, now you have the Companions.
The narrations I'm going to mention to you see them through the context of Rasulullah now telling the Companions everything that's going to happen to them after he dies with remarkable specifics.
So the first one, when he calls Fatima radiyaAllahu ta'ala anha when he's dying and whispers something into her ear and she starts crying. Then he calls her back and he whispers something into her ear and she starts laughing.
'A'ishah radiyaAllahu anha pushes, pushes. What was that? The first thing that he shared with me was that he was going to die, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. That he's not going to come out of the sickness. That made her cry.
The second one, you'll be the first one to join me. And that's exactly what happened. This young, beautiful, healthy and I mean beautiful of course externally and internally
more so like the woman who was just like her father sallallahu alayhi wa sallam suddenly gets ill and passes away after the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.
And the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam says to his wives that the first one to join me will be the one with the longest hand.
So 'A'ishah radiyaAllahu ta'ala anha, she says when the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said that I would be followed by atwalu kunna yadam, the longest hand that the wives of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam started to measure.
Like okay he's telling us the first one amongst the ones who has the longest hand is going to die first. Saudah radiyaAllahu anha actually had the physically longest hand.
Zaynab radiyaAllahu ta'ala anha bint Jahsh had the shortest hand physically. But as 'A'ishah radiyaAllahu anha said, oh she was subhanAllah the most generous of the wives of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. Her sadaqah.
So when the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said the long hand he didn't mean physically. He meant something else. And she was someone subhanAllah who would give away everything. 'Umar radiyaAllahu anhu would get so frustrated with her. Her payment she would give it away.
'Umar radiyaAllahu anhu would plead and have people intercede. Please at least take the money that you're due. Zaynab radiyaAllahu anha was the most generous of the wives of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.
To the point that she said Allahumma la yudrikuni that oh Allah let it not come to me. This money again because it's a test for me.
And you know 'Umar radiyaAllahu anhu heard that she's even making du'a that money doesn't come to her anymore because she wants to just give it all away and she wants to focus on her 'ibadah. 'Umar radiyaAllahu anhu said this is a woman that Allah wants good for.
And so he kept giving her, giving her, giving her. 'Umar radiyaAllahu anhu went personally to give her a thousand. She took the thousand. She waited for him to leave. 'Umar radiyaAllahu anhu waited outside and he saw her coming out to give it in sadaqah. Whatever she had to eat she kept everything else she wanted to give away to the point
that she donated her kafan. So she had one kafan for herself and when a kafan was given to her she said I'm gonna donate this one.
That's how long her arm was, radiyaAllahu anha, constantly giving, right. So the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, I mean imagine living in that community he just painted a world where you're gonna die this way you're gonna die this way this is when you're gonna die. This is when you're gonna die.
This is when it's going to happen. Abu Bakr and 'Umar, the long hadith of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam where he saw a dream where he was drawing water from a well and then Abu Bakr radiyaAllahu anhu took the bucket started drawing from the well as well and the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said
he struggled a bit then 'Umar radiyaAllahu anhu took the bucket and he took so much water from the well that he gave to everybody around even the animals and that was a sign of the length the duration of the khilafah.
Abu Bakr radiyaAllahu anhu's khilafah was extremely short two years and some change 'Umar radiyaAllahu anhu a decade spread Islam throughout the world. Then you have the hadith of Bi'r Aris and Uhud.
Aris where the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was dangling his feet in a well one day and Abu Musa al-Ash'ari radiyaAllahu anhu said everyone's looking for the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam in Medina where did he go where did he go and they just found the Prophet
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam relaxing in the outskirts of Medina in a garden and his feet dangling in a well sallallahu alayhi wa sallam and Abu Musa said I'm going to guard him so that no
one bothers him Abu Bakr finds him and he asked permission Abu Musa asks permission from the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam can Abu Bakr come in he said let him in and
give him the glad tidings of Jannah Abu Bakr radiyaAllahu anhu goes and sits next to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam and starts dangling his feet in the well also 'Umar radiyaAllahu anhu naturally finds him Abu Musa asked permission the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said
let him in and give him the glad tidings of Jannah Abu Musa said I was hoping my brother would be next because I see what's happening here the glad tidings of Jannah so they're sitting in this well the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam next to Abu Bakr and 'Umar and
then 'Uthman radiyaAllahu anhu comes and the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam says go ahead and let him in after a disaster that will strike him he can come too but it's going
to be after a tragedy 'Uthman radiyaAllahu anhu comes and he sits across from them wallahi I took the picture from my phone subhanAllah that's Sa'id ibn Jubayr says the way that
they're buried is exactly as they were sitting in the well that day 'Uthman radiyaAllahu anhu sitting across I stood right behind the grave of 'Uthman and I took a picture of the green
dome just perfectly aligns as if he's sitting across from them the way he was on that day when the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam ascends Uhud and he has Abu Bakr 'Umar and
'Uthman and 'Uthman shakes and he says be firm 'Uthman you have upon you a Siddiq Abu Bakr a man of truth wa shahidayn 'Umar and 'Uthman two martyrs he just told them they're going
to be killed so he's painting a picture sallallahu alayhi wa sallam of what's going to happen and then it gets specific Abu Bakr dies a natural death radiyaAllahu ta'ala anhu 'Umar radiyaAllahu
ta'ala anhu as Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman radiyaAllahu anhu is narrating the hadith and he's the secret keeper of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam and 'Umar is asking about what's going to happen and Hudhayfah says to him don't worry ya amir al-mu'mineen inna baynaka wa bayna
al-fitnati baban mughlaqa between you and the fitna is a shut door and 'Umar radiyaAllahu anhu said a yuftahu al-babu am yuksar will the door be opened or will the door be broken
qala bal yuksar he said no it'll be broken if you watch that conversation you have no idea what just happened 'Umar radiyaAllahu anhu understood that he was the door between
prosperity and fitna yuksar he would be killed and 'Umar radiyaAllahu ta'ala anhu says allahu musta'an idhan la yughlaqa abada it will never be shut again and 'Uthman says in a hadith
in al-Bazzar that when the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was talking about the fitan and the trials and tribulations to come to the ummah he said there will be a door that will be locked between you and the fitna as long as this one lives among you and he pointed
in the direction of 'Umar radiyaAllahu ta'ala anhu so 'Umar radiyaAllahu anhu dies exactly as the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said now comes 'Uthman like the world is unfolding from the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam as he used to see what would happen the next
day everything is falling into place exactly as the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said that it will fall remember the day before Badr when he went and pointed to every spot and said this person will fall here this person will fall here now it's 'Uthman radiyaAllahu
anhu's turn the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is sitting amongst his companions and 'Uthman radiyaAllahu anhu walks in he's wrapped up and the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said
this person is going to be killed unjustly in the fitna and 'Uthman unwrapped his face and the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was asked him and the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said yes him and the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam told 'Uthman Allah is going
to give you a garment and people will demand you to take that garment off do not remove it until you meet me telling you not to resign from your khilafah until you meet me 'A'ishah
radiyaAllahu anha says in an authentic hadith that one time 'Uthman radiyaAllahu anhu entered and the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam told him come close I'm going to tell you something and he whispered something in his ear and 'Uthman radiyaAllahu anhu's face was
changing colors Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said you understand what I'm saying to you 'Uthman said I understand and he said come down and just as he whispered in the ear of
Fatima and told her exactly when she would die he's telling 'Uthman exactly how he's going to die so he spoke about that and he said sallallahu alayhi wa sallam that after I'm gone
you're going to see much fitan and turbulence and they said ya Rasulullah so how do we save ourselves qala alaykum bi-l-ameen wa ashabih stick to the trustworthy one and his companions
and he pointed to 'Uthman radiyaAllahu anhu as he was saying that remember the whole theme of the day of judgment coming is the loss of trust stick to that truthful one and the people that will be with him he said sallallahu alayhi wa sallam whoever is saved from three
things will be saved my death the Dajjal and the murder of a khalifah who is adhering to the truth and fulfilling his duty be spared of these things right in that regard so he
predicted and he said exactly alayhi salatu wa assalam what happens to 'Uthman radiyaAllahu anhu and then comes 'Ali radiyaAllahu ta'ala anhu and 'Ali one day is sitting with al-Zubayr may Allah be pleased with them both and they're best friends they're buddies they love each
other qala atuhibbuhu ya al-Zubayr you love him oh al-Zubayr he said yeah of course he said tuqatiluhu wa anta lahu zalim you're going to one day fight him and you will be the one in the wrong
what where did that come from? Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam that's the fitna 'Ali radiyaAllahu anhu reminded him of that when they faced each other on the battlefield and al-Zubayr radiyaAllahu anhu walked away and was killed as he was walking away by one of the people of fitna
and martyred the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said taqtuluhu ammaran al-fi'atu al-baghiyah 'Ammar radiyaAllahu anhu is going to be killed in the transgressing army the first war that
happens then amongst the companions civil war 'Ammar radiyaAllahu anhu is killed and it makes things clear the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam told Abu Dharr radiyaAllahu ta'ala anhu who would draw from the fitna yarhamuAllahu Abu Dharr may Allah have mercy
on you Abu Dharr you'll walk alone you'll die alone and you'll be raised up on the day of judgment alone and that's exactly what happened to Abu Dharr the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam held up al-Hasan radiyaAllahu anhu and he said this one of mine is a leader
and it may be that Allah 'azza wa jall will bring together through him two believing armies two Muslim armies will be reconciled through him and Al-Hasan radiyaAllahu anhu makes
the greatest peace treaty in Islamic history and reconciles the two armies the Prophet salallahu alayhi wasallam with Al-Husayn radiyaAllahu ta'ala anhu Jibril alayhi wasallam comes to him one day
qala akhbarani Jibril anna ibni hadha yuqtalu bi ardin yuqalu laha Karbala wa ataani bi turbatin minha Allahu akbar said Jibril just came to me and he told me that this son of
mine is going to be killed in Karbala and he brought me some of its dirt that's the first seven decades of Islamic history told by the Prophet salallahu alayhi wasallam with
precision to them about the death of the companions one by one I'll end with this inshallah ta'ala you then come to the last of the companions because remember he said that I am a protection
for my companions and then when I go the companions have to face something then the companions are protection for something the last of the major companions of the Prophet salallahu
alayhi wasallam was who Anas ibn Malik radiyaAllahu ta'ala anhu he lived to be over a hundred years old and he used to say he said that I am the last person on the face of the earth
mimman salla al-qiblatayn who got to pray towards Al-Aqsa and pray towards Mecca I'm the last one on the face of the earth that exists from a generation I can imagine Anas you're
holding on to him so precious the last one from that generation that has that and he would say wallahi ma min laylatin illa wa ana arafiha habibi sallallahu alayhi wasallam
he said I swear by Allah there isn't a night that goes by except that I see my Prophet salallahu alayhi wasallam my beloved one in a dream every day he sees the Prophet salallahu alayhi wasallam in his dream Anas radiyaAllahu ta'ala anhu is in the flesh he touched the Prophet salallahu alayhi wasallam he served him for all those years you want to hold on
to him and Anas radiyaAllahu ta'ala anhu wa huwa yaqulu thalik tadma'u 'aynayn he would start to cry and then he passes away 93 years after hijrah between the age of 103 or 107 and I
leave you with this narration and I apologize for the time dear brothers and sisters a man
by the name of Abu Tufa'il al-Laythi the last companion to die Anas radiyaAllahu ta'ala
anhu was the last major sahabi but imagine on the face of the earth the last person who says ra'aytu Rasulallahi sallallahu alayhi wasallam it's an authentic narration from
Sa'id al-Jariri ra'aytu Rasulallahi sallallahu alayhi wasallam I saw the Prophet salallahu alayhi wasallam wa ma baqiya ala wajhi al-ardi ahadun ra'ahu ghayri there isn't a single
person left on the face of the earth who saw him ya Allah the last eyes to see the Prophet salallahu alayhi wasallam and he would say ana akhiru man ra'a Rasulallahi sallallahu
alayhi wasallam I'm the last person alive amongst you who saw the Prophet salallahu alayhi wasallam they've all died in Syria they've died in Palestine they've died in Iraq they've died in Medina they've died in Egypt they're all dying and there's one more
left a man who buried generation after generation after generation and when he died
radiyaAllahu ta'ala anhu around the year 728 at the age of about 110 after hijrah he was an old man radiyaAllahu ta'ala anhu when he died that's when another sign of the day
of judgment comes because this is the first time you went from thousands of people saw the Prophet salallahu alayhi wasallam to hundreds to dozens to one and this is the first time
there was not a single person in the ummah of Muhammad salallahu alayhi wasallam who saw the Prophet salallahu alayhi wasallam with his eyes and so in history this is when living memory becomes transmitted memory and it represents the turn of the page the
end of nubuwwa the end of the lives of the companions where you have no more wahy you have no more prophet you have no more direct correction you used to be able to go to the Prophet salallahu alayhi wasallam you used to be able to go to the companions that's
all gone now which leaves us now with what we are left with and in the chapter of the going of the righteous will continue bi idhnillahi ta'ala next time
